Arranging for Choral and A Cappella Singing

Arranging music for choral ensembles is a vital skill for choral directors and music educators looking to expand the repertoire of their group. This session will cover the basic composition concepts for the voice in a variety of choral settings, as well as explore creative arranging ideas through analysis of a broad spectrum of popular and traditional a cappella choral arrangements. Topics include vocal technique, text setting, instrumental imitation, and score study. Participants will work on their own arrangement throughout the week, with in-class discussions of their progress.
