Producing and Marketing Class for Music Teachers

Producing any type of show or event, including musical theatre, can bring a whole new dimension to your fine arts program encouraging cooperation, motivation, and goal setting.

In addition to great performing! This hands-on workshop will provide practical strategies for creating and marketing a thriving music program. We will use “ Producing Theatre” as the approach, but this class’s work can be applied to growing and marketing any musical event or program. The work will include concepts from the simplest to the most complex. Topics to be covered include: Finding creative ways to conceive and market your program, teaching the Broadway sound, effective musical direction, basic staging, working with the choreographer/lighting designer/set designer/costumer, basic scene design and building, and marketing among other topics. It will also include all the necessary skills to reimagine what you are currently doing and advocate in a stronger way for your programs with administration, parents and students. This class is for anyone who wants to find creative ways to grow your entire music program.
