DESIGNING STANDARDS-BASED TEACHING AND LEARNING in the ARTS

The Connecticut Arts Administrators Association, Inc. is pleased to offer its time-honored Summer Arts Institute with expanded opportunities. Open to all arts educators, administrators/supervisors, teaching artists and representatives from arts organizations, and content area teachers, the summer institute provides highly qualified instructors, mentoring, models, and guidance in curriculum design, assessment and instruction, and leadership. Special sessions will focus on Social Justice and Social-Emotional Learning.

The goals of the Arts Institute are to assist participants in:

·     Meet individual and/or district needs in the areas of curriculum, instruction and assessment

·     Aligning curriculum and instruction with the National Core Arts Standards Arts educators are encouraged to come in teams with special rates for groups.

·     Recognizing and applying methodology that addresses social-emotional learning, equity, and access.

 Choices for Professional Teaching and Learning Opportunities

1. Create district, building level, or organization curriculum

2. Practical applications of instruction and assessment aligned with the National Core Arts Standards

3. Leadership training for future and current arts leaders seeking ideas and solutions

All 2022 sessions will be conducted live in-person at the University of Hartford.

Two graduate credits will be offered through the University of Hartford. Please contact Dr. Dee Hansen at dehansen@hartford.edu
